Section 3: Community Involvement

I am around my ward of Areley Kings and Riverside daily and always available for contact by phone, email or even a knock on the door. I never shy away from a chat if residents think I can help them. I never ignore anyone. I've been involved in local politics at town and district level since 2007 and enjoyed every minute. My involvement within the community includes my position as a trustee of Areley Kings Church House and quite recently taking over the management of the Elizabeth Mills Day Centre after previously holding the representative position on Town Council. The retirement of the former manager urged me to step up to the helm. Since then, the centre has come on heaps and bounds with increased calls for meals (increase approx. 40%) and increase in room hire. It is always satisfying to help the elderly.

Section 4: Assisting Constituents

I try to help my constituents with any problems that come their way and as soon as I possibly can either alone or with the help of officers from WFDC, WCC, Community Housing or Platform Housing. Many housing issues come my way including homelessness, fly tipping and general untidiness around our estates. These problems are plentiful and is something that I will not tolerate if I can help in any way.

Section 5: Supplementary Information

I sit on the Licensing and Environment Committee as Vice Chairman which is a really interesting committee to be involved with and various other committees on Stourport Town Council i.e.: Parks, Grants, Civic Hall etc. I've also been highly honoured to have represented my hometown of Stourport as Mayor on 4 occasions and Vice Chairman of WFDC on one occasion. Outside of Council business I raise lots of money for various charities and one charity close to my heart is AMMF, the only registered charity in the UK researching into Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer which took my beautiful late wife and children's mother away from us. AMMF have benefitted from almost £11000 raised myself and my family which has been used to help find a treatment to help prolong the vicious disease, which is fantastic news although sadly not a cure.
