Section 3: Community Involvement

I continued attending meetings of the Save the St George's Park Paddling Pool Action Group until October when the Town Council made the decision to close the pool, helping to man a stall for the group at the Borrington Bash on 14th June 2025 and taking part in a fundraising quiz on a hot summer's night at St George's Club. I also took on the role of secretary to the action group after the previous secretaries both resigned.

I attended a summer music event at Springfield Park on 24th August 2025 and another litter pick in Horsfair on 18th October 2025, subsequently taking up an issue on behalf of Wyre Forest Litter Pickers with the enforcement department.

I also attended the AGM of Wyre Forest Talking Newspapers at the former St Barnabas School and the re-opening of Kidderminster Town Hall in November 2025. This was a very special occasion.

Section 4: Assisting Constituents

In November 2025, I donated my £1,000 Community Leadership Fund for 2025 to the Kidderminster Museum of Carpet which was about to close. At Full Council on 10th December, the Leader announced that WFDC would be unable to offer financial assistance to the Museum, but the Administration subsequently decided to give a £50,000 transformation grant to the Museum. Whilst this grant may not be sufficient to save the Museum, I think my donation and the comments I made at Council on 10th December, helped to secure the grant and give the Museum a fighting chance.

As well as contacting Enforcement on the litter picking issue mentioned in Section 3 above, I also liaised with the Council Tax department on behalf of a resident who had an issue with their Council Tax banding.
