Section 3: Community Involvement
Aggborough and Spennells Ward have one of the highest number of young people living in it and no youth provision, I take this issue very seriously and am a member of the Wyre Forest Youth Network, I attend these meetings to see what can be done to obtain youth activities and help for our young people. Membership of the network also helps provide services for young people including mental health provision.
I am also a Kidderminster Town Councillor and am a Chairman of the Staffing Committee and Vice-Chairman of Overview and Finance Committee.
This year I have used my Community Leadership Allocation to support the Trussell Food Bank in Kidderminster, Kidderminster District Youth Trust and Heronswood Primary School in Spennells.
Section 4: Assisting Constituents
We make it as easy as possible for residents to contact us by providing our contact details in the regular Newsletters that we write, print and distribute around the ward with the help of volunteers.
We are contactable by phone, email and FREEPOST. We will visit residents in their home or at the site of any particular issue they wish to raise with us, we also organise meetings with residents and council officers too.
Section 5: Supplementary Information
I have lived in the ward for over 44 years and been the District Councillor for around 29 years, our children and now our grandchildren attended local schools and I strongly believe that the vast amount of local knowledge that I have gathered over the years by living in the area is extremely helpful and helps residents feel more confident when they ask for help.
